Laity, the movement has 120 million Catholic followers.

New lay movements have many things to offer the Church: a deeper
sense of community in the Holy Spirit, of fellowship in the Holy
Spirit, of communion in the Holy Spirit, and a deeper sense of
commitment to Christ in the workplace. They also experience a great

The Internet causes billions of images to appear on
millions of computer monitors around the planet... Will the face of
Christ emerge and the voice of Christ be heard?... This is what will
make the Internet a genuinely human space, for if there is no room for
Christ, there is no room for man. Read

"The future of humanity can never be assured by terrorism
and the logic of war" "Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God" (Mt 5,9)

Address to the Diplomatic Corps
"NO TO WAR"! War is not always inevitable. It
is always a defeat for humanity ... War is never
just another means that one can choose to employ for settling
differences between nations. As the Charter of the United
Nations Organization and international law itself remind us, war
cannot be decided upon, even when it is a matter of ensuring the
common good, except as the very last option and in accordance
with very strict conditions, without ignoring the consequences
for the civilian population both during and after the military
operations.

Alpha
- The late Bishop R Orsmond of Johannesburg said: "Alpha
answers questions that people are asking today. It is not
confrontational and presents the message in every day language.
Above all it helps many come to know the Lord Jesus... they feel
affirmed and enjoy it and so they then in turn invite their friends
to the next course and so it grows" Download

Electronically mediated relationships can never take the place of
the direct human contact required for genuine evangelization. For
evangelization always depends upon the personal witness of the one
sent to evangelize (cf. Rom 10:14-15). Pope John Paul II

- We have experienced the grace of a new
Pentecost. There are many signs of hope which have flourished for the mission of the
Church among which are the discovery and the appraisal of charisms
the
renewed zeal for evangelisation and the advancement of lay people. Pope John Paul
II, 1 March 1999, address to Pontifical Council
for the Laity
|
"Go therefore, and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to carry
out everything I have commanded you. And know that I am with you
always, until the end of the world" (Matthew 28:19-20).
"In the presence of
God and of Christ Jesus, who is coming to judge the living and the
dead, and by his appearing and kingly power, I charge you to preach
the word, to stay with the task whether convenient or inconvenient -
correcting, reproving, appealing - constantly teaching and never
losing patience" (2 Timothy 4:1-2).
|
"Come, Holy Spirit, come and
renew the face of the earth! Come with your seven gifts! Come, Spirit of Life, Spirit of
Communion and Love! The Church and the world need you. Come, Holy Spirit, and make ever
more fruitful the charisms you have bestowed on us. Give new strength and missionary zeal
to these sons and daughters of yours who have gathered here. Open their hearts; renew
their Christian commitment to the world. Make them courageous messengers of the Gospel,
witnesses to the risen Jesus Christ, the Redeemer and Saviour of man. Strengthen their
love and their fidelity to the Church."
