May the Lord through the power of The Holy Spirit, stir
up the hearts of man "in love " to proclaim the Gospel
through this wonderful Tool of Evangelisation
TRANSMISSION SCHEDULE
A repeat broadcast will be done on the same day
in the morning from 10-00 to 11-00
Mon 7 March
Talk 2
Who is Jesus? (41 mins)
Very much a factual historical talk - setting the person of Jesus in
the context of key historical figures and events
Wed 9 March
Talk 3
Why Did Jesus Die? (43 mins)
Self explanatory'
Fri 11 March
Talk 4
How Can I Be Sure of My Faith? (42 mins)
This talk does not assume that everyone is a Christian - it more
approaches the topic from the angle of 'If I were a Christian - how
could I be sure of that?'
Mon 14 March
Talk 5
Why and How Should I Read the Bible? (42 mins)
Quite a practical talk and does not necessarily result in a everyone
reading it in the small group that follows
Wed 16 March
Talk 6
Why and How Do I Pray? (45 mins)
Similar lines to talk 5 and the small group may choose to try
praying a bit later on
Fri 18 March
Talk 7
How Does God Guide Us? (41 mins)
Appeals to everyone and talks about making life's decisions as a
Christian
Sun 20 March - Holy Spirit Day
Talk 8
Who is the Holy Spirit? (39 mins)
Talk 9
What Does the Holy Spirit Do? (40 mins)
Mon 21 March
Talk 10
How Can I Be Filled With The Holy Spirit? (51 mins)
All the above talks link to one another in that order. We may have
to look at the end of Talk 10 and see what happens there. On a
'live' Alpha Day or Weekend, this talk would flow into a time of
ministry and of asking the Holy Spirit to come, but this is probably
not appropriate for this programme
Wed 23 March
Talk 11
How Can I Resist Evil? (44 mins)
This talk comes in here because usually after the Alpha Weekend,
where many people have given their lives to Christ, they experience
a 'low' and this talk goes some way to explaining that low and how
the enemy will try to attack us, certainly when we first become a
Christian
Fri 25 March
Talk 12
Why and How Should We Tell Others? (42 mins)
Looking at the ways in which we may share our faith
Sunday 27 March (Easter Sunday)
Talk 13
Does God Heal Today? (43 mins)
Looking at how God does heal today and in the small groups, people
may begin to pray for healing for each other. Normally in a leaders
prayer meeting prior to this talk, leaders will pray for words of
knowledge and pictures that apply to the guests. These words are
normally given out after the talk and then guests are invited to
respond to the word in the small group if relevant. The group can
then pray for that person and it can be a tremendously encouraging
time for guests over the next couple of weeks, if the condition
improves, etc
Mon 28 March (Easter Monday)
Talk 14
What About the Church?
Looking at why we go to church, the meaning of fellowship,
accountability and relationship building within the Christian
context
Wed 30 March
Talk 15
How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life? (45 mins)
This talk follows the Holy Spirit talks on a weekend and considers
the areas of our life that we would like to see change or that we
want more guidance on, having come to faith
Fri 01 April
Talk 1
Christianity: Boring, Untrue, Irrelevant? (36mins)
This talk is normally given at an Introductory Supper (at the
beginning of the course) or Celebrateion Supper (at the end of the
course). It is a 'come and see' type of talk and is mainly based on
Nicky Gumbel's own journey to finding that Christianity was not
boring, untrue or irrelevant! It presents Alpha at the end of the
talk as one of the ways a person could go and find out more.
THE END!
